Holloween was very exiting this year! Lady Maya and I walked around Kurain and people gave us treats! Even Mother gave us candied apples, though she said we should not be eating them because we'll end up with rotted teeth.

I would have been keeping this journal better, but a large storm passed threw and through out the power. I will up date more often!

Pearl's Profile

[NAME:] Pearl (Pea) Fey / Harumi Ayasato

[SERIES:] GS 2 and 3

[AGE:] 8 in GS2, and is currently 7.

[GENDER:] Female

[STATUS:] Is a child and thus Single, Not Looking (having a boyfriend is not permitted by her mother, though she may wish otherwise!). She is interested in making new friends, with her mother's permission.

[SEXUALITY:] Pearl has been brought up with a very straight black-and-white education. Men go with women, women go with men. Men fall in love with women, women fall in love with men. She has yet to witness, much less personally experience, any situation to contridict such knowledge. Due to her love of fairy tales, she has developed a rather romantic train of thought along these lines.

Personally, however, Pearl is more shy approaching males than females in any respect; she has been surrounded by females for most of her life, and has not had much experience dealing with boys or men.

[FAMILY:]
Kimiko Fey – Her mother, and the central foundation of Pearl's world. Pearl loves and reveres her mother, adhering to her strict training regimen and code of conduct. As with any child, and in particular one whose parent is as refined and proper in all instances, Pearl believes her mother is purely good, never wrong, and has her best interests always in mind. Disobeying her mother is a rare act, and only done indirectly (such as sneaking away from Kurain to visit Maya).

Maya Fey – One of Pearl's older cousins. As the next heir to the Fey family line, Pearl has been instructed to give her cousin due reverence, and always address her as 'Lady Maya'. This proper and distant conduct conflicts at times with her desire to play with Maya and be her cousin's friend. Fortunately, however, Maya does not encourage such formalities. Pearl spends as much time as she can with Maya, trying to hear as much about the outside world (and Maya's experiences with it) as she can.

Mia Fey – Older cousin who left Kurain early on, possibly before Pearl was born. At any rate, while Pearl at least knows about the existence of her cousin, they were not on very familiar terms. She also addresses Mia as 'Lady Mia'.

Father – Pearl has next to no memories of her father, who left Kurain soon after her birth. She harbors a faint fairy tale-like hope that they will someday be reunited, though she does not think about this often.

[FRIENDS:] See Family.

[ENEMIES:] None, or at least none she is aware of.

[OCCUPATION:] Child. Spirit medium in-training.

[HOBBIES:] Very basic childlike interests: reading picture books <strike>with cute animals on the cover</strike>, playing with her Steel Samurai ball, running around, and interacting with close friends and family. She spends a lot of time training and studying, and enjoys it as much as she views it as an essential part of daily life.

[LIKES:] Her mother, Maya, her spiritual training and channelling, playing, learning new things, picture books—especially by author Elise Tenryuusai, and what she has heard of the Steel Samurai from her older cousin.

[DISLIKES:] Bad things! Inappropriate things! When people do not conduct themselves in the proper manner that they are supposed to, as taught to her by her mother. These are met with a scolding and a sucker-punch, although the latter action is not entirely lady-like.

[STRENGTHS:] Pearl's expertise is with channelling and summonning and any other such spiritual activity. She is able to utilize the megatama to reveal the truth in others, though under careful instruction, she knows not to utilize this power unless in dire need. She is quite precocious and insightful, not acting like a typical 7-year old most of the time. Her politeness and honesty are also assets. Her devotion to her family and following her mother's instructions is both a strength and a weakness.

[WEAKNESSES:] Pearl is still a child, and has difficulty reading and spelling long or overly complex words even though she has a very impressive speaking vocabulary. She makes sure to spellcheck her writing quite carefully, but often mixes up one word with another...

Another of Pearl's weaknesses is her limited experience with things outside of Kurain. Due to her lack of knowledge, it is also easy to mislead her on various facts or details of daily life outside of her village.

As a child, Pearl does not have her emotions fully in check, and is prone to crying on occasion. She is also suceptible to fantasy and her imagination, and has the same weaknesses as any average 7-year old girl.

[APPEARANCE:] Pearl is 125 cm, or roughly 4'1 inches. She has blue-grey eyes, and brown hair that is tied up into two butterfly loops. Her features are delicate and tiny, and though she often wears a solemn, quiet expression, it easily dissolves into childish cheerfulness, sadness or anger. She wears standard spirit-medium clothes in purple and lavender, and has a light blue megatama and beads of her own.

[PERSONALITY:] Much of Pearl's personality has been shaped by her mother. Taught to be proper, quiet, humble and lady-like, Pearl strives with all of her ability to be such. However, she is still very much a child, and as energetic, emotional and bubbly as an average, healthy girl. She has an unsatiable curiosity, and a great desire to do what is right and good for her family, especially her mother and Lady Maya.

[ABILITIES:] As a spirit medium, Pearl can channel ghosts. She is also capable of utilizing the megatama, and instructing others in its usage. She also has an almost boundless amount of energy, and her ability to maintain this is regarded by this tired writer as a definite skill.

[BACKGROUND:] Pearl was born to Kimiko and her second husband, a man who left soon after Pearl's birth (if not beforehand). Growing up in Kurain, Pearl lived a very sheltered life almost fully occupied with training and spirit medium duties. Instructed rigourously by her mother, whom she loves and adores, Pearl learned of proper conduct and stifled more childish thoughts to the realms of fantasy and imagination. Now that Maya is training in Kurain, she stays near her as much as possible, trying to glean as much as she can about the outside world and outside life.
